Tunnel
Open day for the Lyttleton Tunnel today, celebrating 50 years of being open, so of course we had to do it, well, the kids and I did!
As expected, thousands of people, so the process took a while, 2 hours all up to cycle the 4km there and back and getting there etc, but well worth it. Including riding up the closed motorway to get there, cool! And no, not scary at all, especially given all the quakes etc, felt pretty good to be honest.
Interestingly, and I guess I knew this, it’s downhill to Lyttleton, slightly, but still an easy bike each way.
Lots of cool facts and figures and old photos in the official opening booklet.
And then work for the afternoon. Important meeting tomorrow.
