Taurinya mines

We decided on a shorter walk this afternoon just to look at the old mining site at Taurinya. The site has two iron ore smelting furnaces, an incline plane, a locomotive and various administrative buildings now invaded by the forest but recently cleared back. Some of the site dates back to the 14th century. It was a pretty walk with the added invest of learning more about an important part of the local heritage.
