Not a bad backdrop . . .

. . . for a traditional agricultural show.

We walked down to the fields with friends for a very brief visit to the show. One of the events is a fell race, where the runners go up the Pike and down again – not for the faint-hearted! Here the crowds were gathering to see the runners return.

We had just enough time to see one of the red rosette winners.
