Las Cajas
These are the windy barren peaks of La cordillera occidental. Scratching the clouds before dropping precipitously down to the hot humid lowlands of the Pacific.
Caracaras and condors riding high on the thermals swooping through the canyons hunting mice in the tall tussock grasses.
Tiny bizarre little wildflowers poking up from the scrub and talus crumble of boulder fields.
Low brooding storm clouds full of moisture draped like a blanket over the cordilleras marching off into the distance.
And the lakes and peaks illuminated and obscured again in passing shadows and flicks of horizontal light like a daguerotype film.
I adore this place. It is so full of spirit up here. Humbling silences and great empty wide open space uninterrupted. It makes you feel very small...
The mystery man is Stu framed on both sides. Taking in the view. 360, full circle perambulating the horizon line.
