Mummy on a Mission

Before The Dawn, before the show...

Had an amazing day yesterday, and the show last night was just incredible. I won't spoil it for my friends still to see it, but her voice is still a powerhouse on the scales, which has not faltered in 35 years since performing live.

We were sucked in to her world, her vision of her music and you could tell the whole theatre was too. Only Kate Bush could call the shots like that and that's why I love her art. Her last encore song made me shed a tear.

My battery died on my phone yesterday, so I wasn't able to post, and....we didn't actually get back from London until 2am so hence I'm back blipping. I took lots of images yesterday on the SLR, using just the nifty fifty. We visited the very moving and incredible poppy display at the Tower, and had a right laugh with my fellow photographer buddy S posing for her in various places. Not to mention me tripping up when I spotted a young man with a fabulous face. Therefore to "save face" I explained, and duly took his photograph.
However, as this is first and foremost a record of my year, instead of putting one of my street shots on, I've gone for the image of the roof of The Hammersmith, rather than the empty stage, as it was a marvellous theatre, and you were respectfully asked not to take photographs during the show. There was an electricity of anticipation in the air and it was indeed skyward I looked, still disbelieving I was about to see and hear live one of the most influential artists of the past 4 decades.
