Hall

way

A very busy day today. Checking over a lengthy cost plan with Gareth, getting started on another cost plan for a job with a new client to start in a couple of weeks. Once Gareth had gone, I had a go at the door to the kitchen which had dropped on its hinges and was dragging on the floor, hence the toolbox in the hall (it usually lives under the stairs)

Sam's much better than me at this sort of thing, he actually takes a pride in hanging a door well, all the gaps being even, it working well and so on. I just want to get the door in the hole and move on to the the next job. Which is probably why it had dropped, I found most of the screws for the hinges missing. Chopped a bit off the top of the hinge pockets and cranked it up by about three millimetres.

The door opens and closes beautifully now, the only problem is that Ant and I were used to having to push or pull quite hard to drag the door over the floor for a couple of weeks so now the door flies open taking us by surprise
