Apart from the work and the swimming and the pizza-making, today involved some live music. A trip out to the Usher Hall tonight with my eldest for a bit of Mahler. Highlight was undoubtedly the man with the huge mallet who hit the big wooden box on two occasions in the last movement and covered half the brass section with chalk-dust. My daughter's verdict - "More interesting than the Kronos Quartet". A success then in my book!
Got to admit tho' that I am loving the Synth Britannia programme that's on BBC Four right now. A bit catchier than the Mahler, more choruses for a start. Lots of Sheffield footage as well which is always a plus, good excuse to play summat by this lot...
