Practice makes...
perfect acceptable it'll have to do.
Apparently the slots in the cushion for the Flumlet's baby seat are too low for the safety straps to fit properly and Nanna was asked to make new slots in the right place.
It appeared a fairly straightforward sort of task, basically just two long buttonholes, except for the fact that the cushion is quite thickly padded, with raised edges.
I have several programmes for buttonholes on my clever sewing machine, and having programmed the appropriate one, duly practised on scraps (old shoulder pads were perfect - who knew that all those rejects would actually prove useful) until satisfied they were repeatable in the correct size.
Performing them on the cushion I was besieged with problems. In short, it has taken all day to make the two slots. And I would be the first to admit that they are less than perfect. Just as well they won't show once the Flumlet is in position.
