The forecast was wrong!

I had cancelled today's walk. When I saw that the rain was intermittent and the sun was peeping through, I changed my mind and went off later than planned. It worked well. After a few short showers in the morning, the afternoon was fine. It was windy, warm and sunny.

My walk was the 12 m circular from Newbrough taking in the forts on Warden Hill and at Brocolitia. There is a good river section, then the climb up (with a few downs), then the walk downhill (over some very rough sections with no path to see).

In one of the woods I spotted this splendid fungus on a birch tree.
