The Hanging of Maggie Dicksons
Maggie Dicksons is the name of a pub in the Grassmarket section of Edinburgh. It is named after a woman who survived a public hanging. She was convicted of committing infanticide, claiming that the baby was still born. She was discovered alive after banging on her coffin.
This artist during the Fringe Festival is working on a mural of the story. It was fun watching the mural evolve over several days.
