When I am old I shall wear purple...

B loved this poem and often joked about wearing purple and hats and being a bag lady when she got old. But she won't have the chance to get old now. Wherever she is now, I hope she is wearing purple and hats and laughing her head off at us headless chickens running around down here on earth!

I had a blood test first thing to see if my sickness episodes might be gall stones so was up nice and early. Then went to Costa, well aware that I might feel sad and odd being there without B but as I walked in I saw a lady from the village who has sent me some lovely, supportive messages this week so I think B may have had a hand in that! We had a good chat about B and funerals etc.

I then did a quick tip run, picked up my swimming stuff then went to the cinema to see 'What If' at a really early showing. I'm so glad I went. It was a gentle, albeit predictable, romantic film and just what I needed. Afterwards, I took a call from another villager who had seen the death notice in the local rag. She was very kind.

P spoke to the coroner and it looks as though the cause of death is likely to have been a massive instant coronary which would have killed B almost instantly. It's good to have the information and to be as sure as we can be that she didn't suffer very much, if at all.

I then went up to Woburn to the outdoor pool. It was rather cloudy but the sun did come out for a while. I shared the pool with three children (one of whom could swim much faster than me!) and once more it invigorated me and I felt really good after. I had a chai latte from the drive thru on the way home and found some pretty yellow roses waiting on the doorstep from A and P when I arrived back. How kind.

I am going up stay with S in Leicester tonight.
