Food miles

These bananas are from central america, a long way from Barnstaple. There are still stalls in the market where the food is grown more locally but sadly this is a diminishing number.

In other news, when I searched the internet to see where these bananas came from, I read about the $1bn banana merger about to happen between Chiquita and Fyffes. It will result in the biggest banana company in the world. Something new for you today.
