Mount St. Helens from Johnston Ridge
We spent the day with two friends who came down from Tacoma.
A trip up Spirit Lake Highway to the Johnston Ridge Visitors Center filled our day with wonder.
I must apologize that my photographic skills were a bit boggled in the attempt to capture the immense size of the volcano from 11 miles away.
Kathy and I moved to Kelso, Washington on May 10, 1980 to a little house with a view of the snow capped Mount St. Helens.
Just 8 days later we found ourselves staring at the volcanic eruption.
So fine to revisit this area once again.
