Sea & Sand at St.Ninian's & Spiggie

Took the grandchildren over to St Ninian's Isle ayre (shown) to try their body boards - but they weren't that buoyant and the waves were unusually small (it is very fine weather) - so they played on the beach happily for around an hour. We then set off south to see if the waves were larger elsewhere (I was thinking of the west voe at Sumburgh) but we stopped off at Spiggie beach. There were no waves there either, but they tried using their boards to "surf" down the sand dunes - and it worked - kind of like slow snowboarding.
