Great Dun Fell Golf Ball

I was asked to get some shots of a tower installation at the site of the old Silverband Mine, just below the Great Dun Fell golf ball.

The golf ball was built in the 1960's and aids civil air traffic control over the North Atlantic.

I was lucky... the clouds parted and we even got some blue sky. If I'd been there two hours earlier we wouldn't have known the golf ball was even there!
