Stately homely!

This is the Upstairs White Drawing Room at Burton Agnes Hall near Driffield. It is still very much a family home though open to the public for much of the time. You are welcome to sit on window seats and other chairs throughout the house, but not these Hepplewhite chairs! I spent a long time sat in this room as it was so tranquil. I was mostly totally on my own though there seemed to be a goodly number of visitors, especially to the excellent cafe. Best piece of coffee cake I've had in a long time. The steak and potato pie with minted mushy peas wasn't bad either ;-) Luckily the rain showers didn't return until after we had left.
