Nat's Travels

By natstravels

The trainings done!

So only 3 sleeps till the big day... Last spin round the block on my bike and only endured lots of the wet stuff for the last mile!

So Sunday the day I have been waiting, for and dreading since 5th January 2014 when I decided to up the anti and 'go long' as they say in the triathlon world. At the moment I feel quite calm, there is nothing more I can do the miles have been done and now it's just time to rest, eat, sleep and relax.

So Sunday it's the day of the Cotswold Classic middle distance triathlon, to give it it's full name, to the uninitiated, if I said a half ironman you'd probably know what I meant.

So at 0630hrs I will begin in the water and swim 1900meters (1.2miles), then get on my bike and cycle 56miles then clamber off my bike and run 13miles (a half marathon) and then slump into a heap on the finish line, all being well!

So I had a little tally of the miles I have put in for this event over the last 8months, they are the minimum:
At least 46miles of swimming
829miles on my bike, since March when I got my new wheels.
340miles of running (42.5miles per month)

Is it enough, will find out come race day :)
