Homage to Harley

In 1859 one William Harley emigrated to the USA from the village of Littleport near Ely, Cambridgeshire. His son. William S Harley became the co-founder of the Harley Davidson Motor Company. When this memorial was commissioned and installed in 2003 a large group of Americans from the Harley family came over and held a big party to which all members of the English family were invited. The village hosts several gatherings of bikers each year who camp at the leisure centre and ride in procession through the village centre.
