Waiuku river, Waiuku

We went out today to Pollok on the Awhitu Peninsula to collect yacón tubers and plants from a couple of friends, Aliah Jan and her husband M.I. Soong.

We had a little stop over at Waiuku township, the gateway to the Awhitu Peninsula.

Looking north east over the Waiuku river, you can see the smoking chimneys of the steel mills at Glenbrook.
