Burj Khalifa
We had a day at the Dubai Mall. We began the day trip with a visit 'to the top' of Burj Khalifa- the tallest building in the world. The lift 'to the top' was incredibly fast. We discovered however that we weren't going to the top of the building, 830 odd metres high, but only halfway up, which is still the highest public observatory point in the world but still, a little disappointing. The views however, were pretty good and just like the Khalifa is in a league of its own when you compare its height with the other skyscrapers on looking at them on the horizon, the skyscrapers almost looks like toys when looking down at them from 430 odd metres high. It's an impressive sight.
The rest of the day was spent shopping in the largest Mall in the world, finished with watching the dancing fountains- another spectacular sight! This blip was taken on one edge of the lake where the display takes place. The Khalifa is so tall that it was impossible to fit the whole building in the photo.
