Close Encounter
On my way home this evening from the dance class, I was hoping to emulate the recent shots of the viaduct span, but at night. However the floodlight placing made such a pic impossible. Something about this shot evoked the Spielberg film alluded to in the title above, for me.
Looks like the final couple of feet to the brace will be made tonight. It's remarkable how for the past couple of days, the entire span across the railway lines has only been supported at one end. An enormous amount of weight (most of what's in this image) just suspended in the air - it might look like it's resting on something on the RHS, but it isn't.
Got some new kit today, only had a brief play with it at lunchtime. A 2nd-hand Tamron 135mm OM-fitting lens, and the Lensbaby Accessory Kit. The latter contains extra apertures, and 4 screw in lens: +4 and +10 macros, a 0.6 wide angle and a 1.6 tele. I'll be blipping some results soon.
