Twelve

I had an interesting conversation with a colleague today about serialism in music.

For those that don't know, serialism is a contemporary compositional technique which approaches the use of the notes differently, often manipulating the core twelve notes of the chromatic scale into certain patterns or series.

Fascinating stuff and it took me back to uni when we looked at this stuff. Our students aren't going to know what hit them when he introduces it :)
