Alnmouth

Today instead of returning on the train via Preston as usual, I travelled across the Pennines and then north via York. I enjoy the west route but it was really nice for a change to see the attractive scenery in the Pennines with the purple covered hills and families enjoying the warm sunshine beside the canals and pubs. Near the Scottish border the views were spectacular with the deep blue sea fringed with sandy beaches and then white waves lashing cliffs. Unfortunately because of the speeding train this photo is not very clear but it shows Alnmouth in Northumberland.
