Arrow formation

I visited the local fishermen's pond to see if the swans were there. There were several fishermen on the far bank and two moorhen chicks scuttled into the undergrowth. But these three mallards came post haste to see if I had anything for them, leaving their v shaped wakes behind them. There was no sign of the swans.
