OCTAVE MANDOLINE

According to CC, yesterday's Gibson was a Model A1 built in 1914 - pretty good guess HEY!

The owner of the Gibson is Lorcan Fahy - son of my friend Kieran. Kieran's a great traditional Irish fiddle player. Lorcan can out-fiddle his dad before breakfast. Classical, traditional, jazz? No problem.

He's also a wizz on the mandoline...

Today he came to collect the Gibson, and deposited this octave mandoline which I made for him a couple of years ago for a "contrôle technique" (MOT).

Very pleased to see this instrument again, and gratified to hear how good it sounds. An "Octave Mandoline" is exactly what it says on the box - it's a mandoline, but one octave deeper.
