Viva Le Tour
We didn't get up to Yorkshire for the Grand Depart in July. I've Tourwatched before and it's a lot of logisitics for 5 minutes of excitement. So we left it.
Nearly a month on, you'd think that any trace of the Grand Boucle would have disappeared by now. Not so, yellow bikes, tiny knitted jerseys (apparently the WI knitted more than 30,000) and coloured flags still abound. In Masham (where this was taken) they have even built a stone honesty box engraved with the date the tour passed through.
Seemingly everywhere you go, there is still clear evidence that Yorkshire didn't just support the tour, they embraced it.
