Hoy Hills
Walked up ward Hill, Hoy. Went up Hest and came down Broadiface. This entails walking the entire length of the hill. On the way up we met this man leaning into the wind. He met himself on the way doen as an 11 year old (Laurie lee achieved this in 'Cider with Rosie'). Very windy and cold on top at the cairn surrounding the trig point.
The current Mrs Creel observed that the hills seem to be turning brown very early. Theorising suggested that the coldish northerly winds, since August 7th, have hastened this.
What a boost when we arrived home because the grass in the lower fields, which had been cut at the weekend, was being baled, wrapped and carted away.
