Tough lives

Last day in Venice - we travel out this afternoon.

There are a lot of street traders here - I don't envy them. They are treated like dirt by the locals - I heard some APPALLING language one evening hurled in their direction - and they work every hour they can for next to nothing.

I wonder what they've come from that makes this a worthwhile prospect for them.

Some people have really really tough lives.
