WATER (4) - AUGUST CHALLENGE
Of course, being near the sea, there is no shortage of water and this morning we went down to Boscombe beach, where there is frantic activity.
The Bournemouth Air Show takes place this coming weekend and there will be concerts, stalls, food, and of course, aeroplanes!
I went down onto the beach whilst Mr. HCB walked sedately along the prom - and when the light changed, I captured this shot of the sea and dark sky - which looked rather threatening - but hopefully if we have rain, it will all come before the weekend.
Mozart has the classic purity of light and the blue ocean;
Beethoven the romantic grandeur
which belongs to the storms of air and sea,
and while the soul of Mozart seems to dwell
on the ethereal peaks of Olympus,
that of Beethoven climbs shuddering
the storm-beaten sides of a Sinai.
Blessed be they both!
Each represents a moment of the ideal life,
each does us good.
Our love is due to both.
Henri-Frédéric Amiel 1821-1881
