Apples - a closer look

Hubby came in with a bag of cooking apples from a neighbours tree. yum!

On closer inspection, just look at those tiny cobwebs around the Calyx. The Calyx is the unattractive end of the apple, which was once a beautiful spring flower to attract the pollinating insects.
