Milky Way
Occasionally (when it's not too cold) I have a go at some star shots. I think we have too much light pollution (25km from city of Melbourne) to get really nice shots and I have no chance of getting good circular star trails around the south celestial pole, as the city is also south of me and the clear night sky is a muddy brown in that direction. But I'm practising with different settings, so that when I do get a chance at a clear sky away from the city, I'll know what works best.
This is about as good as the Milky Way gets from my house – nothing like the view from outback Australia or New Zealand.
