Thoughts of a Mummy

By Jaxndm

Name it...

Today has mainly been about labelling.

DM returns to school and my twins begin big school this week, and my youngest starts at Playschool next week; it's all go!

DM seems to be in a constant growth spurt and tends to require new shoes every new term and the next size clothes quite frequently. R&P will mainly be reusing DM's uniform, however we are also fortunate enough to have family and friends that have either donated their daughters hand me downs or bought new bits for them. The school shoes alone cost over £100 for all three!!

So today I have been ironing the name tags in the clothes, labelling the shoes, PE bags, book bags, water bottles and lunch boxes.

The clothes that we are reusing have had to have all previous tags etc removed and new names put on.

We had a trying on session for sizing; fortunately my twins are slightly different sizes so I've managed to get away with them being in different sized clothing, which is perfect!

We all talked tonight about school dinners, discussing who would want school dinners and who would prefer sandwiches. We went though the meal plan with the girls and I've even made a little card for them each to keep in their bags, so that the school will know what their food preferences will be. Silly of me I know ;)

It's hard to explain, but when you have one child that will be adapting to a new environment, you get one lot of feedback and you give one point of call the necessary information. However, when there is more than one, I'm not ashamed to admit it, it can be confusing even to myself! So yes, I will look to find ways to simplify things for myself and my girls. Just because my head is full of the relevant information for my girls, I can't expect others to know or for the girls to know themselves for that matter. It's all going to be new to them, there will be a lot to take in and I want it to be as pleasant and stress free as possible. (For all of us)

And "what am I going to do with myself now I have all this spare time" I hear you say..... Well I will have one day a week to myself, which will be the time I can do ironing, cleaning, and finally catch up with the last three years of filing! The rest of my time will be used to entertain Aj, as I will still have her at home the other four days.
