Sefton Park Library, Liverpool

The last of the local libraries designed by the Liverpool Corporation Surveyor Thomas Skelmerdine, it was another gift to the city by Andrew Carnegie, who opened the library in 1911. A Grade 11 listed building, it was built in a Tudor revival style, with a double height hall. Part of its roof and the lending counter were damaged by a bomb in World War 11, and it is now threatened with closure, 6/11.
