In search of hot springs
We found Skala Sikaminias and liked it so much we had to have lunch early (and share it with a few cats).
The coastal instead of the mountain road was a fun drive but we failed to find any springs for a while, partly because some of them have been hived off into private hotels and partly because we were coming from the less touristy end and the signs are only written on one side.
Efthalou has a building with a white adobe attachment housing a Roman style pool about 3 by 2m. When you first put your foot in, you think you would poach if you lowered your entire body in. I like it hot, but the boys guarded themselves a little. However, after a cold dunk in the sea, it becomes a lot easier and far more pleasant an experience. It's just deep enough to float your whole body in. Here's hoping for miracle cures!
This little remnant of a boat was perched on the outskirts of lunch.. so very pretty there.
