Stations season

It's the time of year when we have Station Masses throughout the parish in people's homes. At today's Station, they kept it very traditional and preserved even some of the elements of the tradition that I had forgotten. This included hanging a cloth (linen) canopy over the altar. This must have become a practise to, as it were, imitate the décor of many churches which had a fixed wooden or marble or plaster canopy over the altar in the sanctuary.
