Fooled?

These paper bags are a common sight. I am not sure whether or not they're effective in deterring wasps but it is one use for an old paper bag! I have put bags up all around the outside of the house and I think it may have stopped wasps nesting in the house.

There's another similar wheeze involving hanging up ziploc bags filled with water and a few shiny pennies. I am told it will keep flies away. I've seen it used on the Taco Food Truck and one is just visible in the photo seen on the tripadvisor link. Does anyone know if this works?
