An embarrassment of riches.

What a bank holiday.

Except it isn't a bank holiday up here. Hence my surprise when I missed the bin-man and found post in the car.

There was no wind to do owt in the house so I took the kayak out into Bay of Lopness instead, as it's free. Got buzzed by gulls, showing off by trailing their wings in the still water. Saw some seals waking up from their slumbers. One even stretched. Awesome. Loads of big, scarlet jellyfish drifted around just below the surface, tendrils snaking under the boat. And a crab, doing his thing. basically, trying to avoid the other lot.

Feral mum was out and about, too. First coming home with breakfast for the kittens. Latterly, sitting in the middle of the road, grooming herself. Then a flock of about sixteen barn swallows congregated on the shed roof. It looks like they are getting ready to depart. I'm gonna miss those guys.

I had one last job to attend to. My 'last legs' Merrells were lying on the roof of the car, drying out. To be honest, I also had to double bag and retrieve the rubbish bag too, as we're now stuck with it for another week. But the trek down the garden at the end of the day was well worth it:

We enjoy a lot of sky and a plethora of skies. This is one of 'em.
