Eagle and Child

In June we went to Cambridge and I was impressed by the fact that the pub we visited was the place in which the discovery of DNA was announced. Whilst in Oxford we saw and visited the Eagle and Child where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien swapped excerpts from their books whilst they were being written. Being a huge fan of both authors I have to confess to being far more excited by this (albeit weak) link to two of my heroes than the Cambridge one.
