Mangosteen

There are always unfamiliar fruits at the Muscat supermarket. Never thought I would have to google about a fruit before eating it!

The rambutan of the other week was a very sweet fleshy fruit which had a habit of holding on to the woody husk of the seed at the core. Worth trying again.

This week's strange fruit is a mangosteen. Another new one on me. It has it's own web site www.mangosteen.com and it has been hailed as the queen of fruits.

Good to know that there are folks dedicated to raising awareness of the mangosteen.
