Great Spotted Woodpecker

I thought I had my blip sorted this morning. A delightful walk in Jesmond Dene gave me a few bird shots to choose from. The dipper had just about edged it from the wren, (The grey squirrel and the magpie having lost in the semi-final). Then this handsome chap flew into the garden, and stole the show.

It's been a while since I've seen one in the garden. Thrilled with this shot as it is untouched, except for a crop, and was taken through a kitchen window which could probably do with a bit of a clean.
