Both Scarborough lifeboats were launched this afternoon. The inshore boat was called out first, to assist a small vessel in trouble on Cornelian rocks, with three people aboard. A few minutes later, in a strong swell, the all-weather lifeboat (pictured) was despatched across the south bay. The vessel in distress was recovered and towed back to safety by the inshore lifeboat.
