Eerie
Neil organised a wonderful walk today, where the 2 groups combined to make 1 large group. Just under 40 all up. He took us to see where the new equestrian center was to be built, then up to Rippon vineyard to hear David talk about the history of what was Wanaka Station Park. From there we walked down to the lake front where Andrew showed us through the nursery, and told us of all the plantings that had been done and were being organised around the various lakes in the area.
We then had a talk from Mark and Tania about their small electricity plant using the water from Waterfall Creek which runs through their property. On to the neighbour who is organising an event, 50 peaks in 50 days, as a fund raiser for the Mental Health Foundation. We had our lunch at Neil's place, which has outstanding views over Lake Wanaka. A welcome cuppa at a local café finished our walk today.
The above photo was taken this morning as we walked through Barn Pinch Farm looking at Ruby Island.
