My niece, Maria, is up on a flying visit from London, staying with my mum (her granny) for a few days. My sister Margaret, Maria, mum and I had a great 'girls' day out at Traquair House in Innerleithen. Lots of tea and cake.

Margaret lead us to the centre of the maze behind the house in under 10 minutes, a record for us.

The trick (and this works with every maze, according to Margaret) is to always turn right.
