itchy coos?

This is actually a photo my dad took on a walk today, I've not done an awful lot as I'm feeling gross. He sent this info with it:

"Colourful itchy berries: the insides have wee seeds with wee hairy strands which were sometimes called 'itchy coos'.

These are actually rose hip berries, rose hips are used to make a a syrup high in vitamin C."


I think I remember as a kid picking these and getting the insides out and trying to shove them down folks tshirt collars at the back because we'd heard they'd make you itch. I never remember feeling itchy off them though.

Hoping to feel better tomorrow and its a bank holiday we get off work so I want to do something fun. Nurse first thing though...then fun. Suggestions?
