Clematis

Last year I had about 3 flowers very high up on this clematis but I pruned it back hard and this year I have a beautiful purple wall, covered in flowers. Great to look out on when the setting sun is shining on it.

Swam this morning. The pool wasn't busy but it is still cold. Apparently the plant hasn't recovered from the Games. Then to Cameron Toll for a quick shop, that of course turned out to be much longer.

Got home for a late breakfast, shopping unpacking (I resent the time I have to spend in a supermarket), a smidgeon of work and then a Skype to the KL 2. Although after Skype fell over we ended up back on a phone call. It's still a waiting game. The due date is now 3 days away and apparently she only gets to go 5 days after that - seems very short. So maybe by this time next week-end we'll have a baby. #1 son si very relaxed about the whole thing and in fact is planning a trip away in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't have let him to do that.

With no rain on the horizon I cut all the grass, pulled out some weeds and cut back a few things. The summer is definitely coming to an end and the flowers are starting on the downward trend.

And I've cooked - roast chicken and Dorset apple tray bake. Smells good, about time I went off and ate it!
