Tarata Canopy

There's something about standing under the canopy of the Tarata tree with the sunlight filtering through, even better with the effect of the lensbaby with aperature f/2.8

The Tarata is endemic to New Zealand. It's widespread throughout the North and South Islands situated in lowland and lower montane forest areas. The leaves have distinct pointed tips and wavy margins emitting a strong scent when crushed. The flowers are pale yellow formed in terminal clusters and sweet-scented, while the seeds are black as shown here.

We had a wonderful spring-like afternoon, calm in the garden with dappled light,  blue sky above and a few white clouds, a little chilly in the shade. I often look out and see this rather large tree beautifully lit in the afternoon light but haven't manage to capture it until today - lensbaby magic!
