The peak of strife.

We spent the last few days being men up in Skye. This included this stroll up Sgurr na Stri; Gaelic for the Peak of Strife...
It doesn't quite fit in the munro classification but it's the guardian mountain overlooking the entry to the bay at the feet of the Cullin mountain range. Some say it's the finest view in Britain, and the closest to heaven you can get. We boated over in the morning with clouds gathering over the jagged peaks, and it felt like we were journeying to Mordor. All the more so when we had to take our shoes off to cross a river and felt like little hairy-feeted hobbitses.

The view from the top was indeed spectacular.
Up at the top you can see the amphitheatre of mountains stretched out around you, looming and snaggy and seemingly unclimbable. Wisely we did not climb them, but headed back into the valley to set up camp.
