A bridge to nowhere
On a walk the day before a fishing competition to look at the venue I came across this very old concrete bridge over the River Kennet which ends abruptly on the right where my photo ends. At one time it must have been of use but it only connects to a tiny island between the River Kennet and the Kennet and Avon canal system so it seems a very expensive luxury to construct a bridge to this tiny plot of land. The whole area is owned by the Benyon family very rich land owners and currently the conservative MP for the Newbury area.
