At the races

A trip to Es Grau today, where you can walk into the sea for a vast distance before it gets deep. Read a very moving book by Justine Picardie about her sister Ruth, who died of cancer at the age of 33. A collection of Ruth's writings also makes a very moving book.

Either way, my holiday reading has been very satisfying this year! Not to mention thought provoking.

We're at the trotting races. It's fun just sitting by and watching the whole preamble, race and aftermath. We're not betting with money but are having unofficial bets. They are very fast and it's clear that their faces are only inches from the horse's rear end!
