Times Of My Life

Women for Independence Day of Action

When it comes to the Referendum, I'm voting YES because of where I am in life, right now, and because I have hope that this wee bit of the world will be the very best place for my grandkids to grow up in.

Today was a Day of Action for Women for Indy, and I was on a stall in the High Street, along with loads of other volunteers from both WfI and YES campaigns. Pete Wishart, local MP, was out and about chatting with undecided voters and giving them answers to their questions.

I had a fantastic time; it was such a buzz speaking to people, and hearing their reasons for voting yes. Not so much when speaking to the No voters, who are often scornful and rude. Which is a shame, because we are all going to live here together on the 19th September, whatever the vote. This photo shows Sheila with a lovely family who were here on holiday from the Basque region of Spain, and who were very interested in our referendum. They took loads of stuff away with them to show their friends back home, and wished us the best of luck for a YES outcome.

I'm off in a wee while to stuff leaflets through doors, and speak with more people hopefully. Thank goodness it has stayed dry all day! Do you think it will hold out until Wine-time?
